For us, Ireland is indeed magical. It has ancient stone towers rising very high in the sky from centuries ago. It has castles and signs of ancient civilizations dot the land. It also has beautiful flowers blooming around the countryside and in the yards of the homes and churches.

We had been in Ireland for awhile to visit our Grandsons and their family, there in that historical village above the sea. It was October and was cool with a bit of rain, but not too much. The fields were emerald green and the cattle and sheep were grazing. The swans were in at the Lake in rather large numbers, spreading its surface with their bright white colors. We had gone one day up above the village to a wonderful garden at a Convent. The flowers were all blooming and the colors were wonderful. Here then are the photos of what we saw up there in the garden, a very peaceful and quiet place. ----BT February 14, 2006

This St. Mary's Collegiate Church, just across the Convent garden, dates from the 13th Century. It is beautiful and ancient and contains many interesting monuments.
