"More than anything I must have flowers, always, always."

----Claude Monet

Author's note: When I started this project of the web page, it really was not planned to be a large archive of flower photos. It really was an experiment for me to try with a new digital camera. My collection of flowers and photos has grown immensely, and the enjoyment of doing the page and the photos becomes more interesting and enjoyable each day. I began with geraniums, those wonderfully "painted" colored blossoms that one sees in many villages and cities in Spain and other countries. A friend who knows Spain recently told me he remembered so clearly the pots of geraniums on the balconies and faces of buildings in Spain. And in our times in Spain, it was clear to us that the Spanish love flowers and especially geraniums, seeing them in all the villages and towns, flinging their colors out into the air from the balconies and houses.

I then, of course, widened my interest and photos to many other flowers, even using "guest photographers" to "exhibit their wares" on my web page. The colors of flowers continually amaze and thrill me. I will always photograph them. As to my web page, <http://www.digitalflowers.net> it shall continue. Originally it was designed for myself, as a place I could go on the web for relaxation and enjoyment, but has grown.

For awhile, I would like to add what I call "Special Flowers" pages each month. Perhaps feature some of my best colors and recent photos. I will like doing that, especially with Spring approaching and the geraniums perking up their buds and "colorfying" the yard. And once in awhile, I will try to write an appropriate poem(is there such?) for a particular individual flower photo. I hope you enjoy that too. I have always been an amateur poet.

My Father has told me that when a young man he raised geraniums and really enjoyed doing that. So you see, it is there---this interest and affection for gardening and flowers. As Montagu Don said in the book, "The Sensuous Garden", 1997: "You do not need to know anything about a plant to know that it is beautiful."

I hope you, the reader of my page, enjoy this new section each month. May the page be restful and peaceful for you as you read it. -----------BT, March, 2004
