Rain
The rain has come at last
Bringing renewed life to the
living plants.
They bow their blossoms in reverence
To the precious dampness
And soak in the cherished wetness.

The rain
Is full of ghosts tonight, that
tap and sigh
Upon the glass and listen for
reply....

Primrose in the rain
How beautiful is the rain!
After the dust and the heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!
-----Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Lilac in the rain
"I am sure it is a great
mistake always to know enough to go in when it rains. One may
keep snug and dry by such knowledge, but one misses a world of
loveliness."

APRIL RAIN SONG
Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head
with silver liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby.
The rain makes still pools on
the sidewalk.
The rain makes running pools
in the gutter.
The rain plays a little sleep-song
on our roof at night -- And I love the rain.
---Langston Hughes
